President Biden this afternoon highlighted his administration’s investments in rural America at Robert “Rusty” Kluver’s farm, near Northfield, Minnesota, about a half-hour south of the Minneapolis metro area. The Kluver family grows corn and soybeans, and raises hogs.
During his comments, President Biden emphasized the administration’s new investments from the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law and the Inflation Reduction Act to advance rural prosperity, economic development, competition, and sustainability.
“For the past few decades, these communities lost more than jobs. They lost their sense of dignity, opportunity pride. My plan is about investing in rural America. It’s about something else as well. It’s about restoring pride to rural communities that have been left behind for far too long.”
The event kicked off a series of scheduled appearances by cabinet members in several rural states over the next two weeks.
