ST. LOUIS, Mo. (UND Athletics)– North Dakota kicker C.J. Elrichs was one of four players to earn Missouri Valley Football Conference Player of the Week honors on Monday, earning the title of MVFC Newcomer of the Week.
Elrichs played a large role in UND’s 36-33 overtime victory over the Sycamores on Saturday. He trotted out for just the second field goal attempt of his career with seven seconds left and drilled the 32-yard field goal to even the game up at 30-30 with four seconds remaining in regulation, eventually sending the game into overtime. David Neuberger was the center and Simon Romfo was the holder on the game-tying field goal.
The Olathe, Kan., native also went 3-for-3 on extra points in the victory.
North Dakota will visit Murray State on Saturday. Kickoff between the Fighting Hawks and Racers is slated for 1 p.m. The game will be televised on Midco Sports Two and carried on the Home of Economy Radio Networ
