APPLETON, Minn. (KFGO) – An Appleton man was killed Sunday afternoon and three family members were injured in a head-on collision in western Minnesota’s Chippewa county.
The State patrol says a pickup driven by 35-year-old Curtis Olson was heading south when he collided with a northbound SUV on Highway 59. Olson died at the scene.
Olson had three passengers who were airlifted to Appleton Area Health. A 29-year-old woman suffered life-threatening injuries while two teenage boys, ages 15 and 13, suffered less serious injuries.
The driver of the SUV, a 31-year-old Odessa woman, was hurt but was not hospitalized.
