FARGO (KFGO) – A man who admitted he threatened to kill a federal court employee in Fargo earlier this week is expected to make an initial appearance in court Friday afternoon after FBI agents questioned and arrested him Thursday.
Court documents say 35-year-old Christian Akouala admitted to special agents that he threatened a federal case administrator during a Wednesday morning phone call.
Akouala said he became upset after calling the court to check on a case he had attempted to file on October 2. He told agents he believed the court was not following proper protocol in his case and admitted he was offended by the case administrator’s tone and language toward him, and that he told the court administrator if she did not resolve his case in the matter he saw fit, he would come to the courthouse with a gun and “she would be the first of his victims.”
Agents say Akouala confirmed to them that he understood it was wrong to threaten the court employee but he told them, “he would have no choice but to take the matter into his own hands” if the court wouldn’t properly address his concerns, and that “he preferred be dead than unsuccessful.”
Akouala faces a fine and possible prison time for threatening a federal officer in the case.
