ROCHESTER, Minn. – Mayo Clinic is working with several medical facilities across the country to research care options for people with bipolar disorder.
Dr. Mark Frye, a Mayo Clinic psychiatrist, said almost seven out of 10 people with bipolar disorder are diagnosed.
“Medications that have been developed are inadequate to really meet the needs of individuals living with this illness today; we need to do better,” Frye said.
Over the next five years, 4,000 people with bipolar disorder will participate in a study, including Mayo Clinic patients.
