FARGO, N.D. (KFGO) – Fargo City Commissioner Tony Grindberg says he will run for re-election to a second term. Grindberg was first elected to the city commission in 2016 after spending 22-years as a state senator.
He says he will continue to focus on pro-growth strategies, public safety, infrastructure, local government reform and securing state and federal funding for the FM Diversion project.
Commissioner John Strand says he will make his announcement soon. Two challengers have already filed for the two seats in the upcoming June 9th election.
It will be the first city election to use approval voting. Approved by voters in 2018, it gives voters the ability to for all candidates they support. Whichever candidate has the most votes wins. In this June’s election, the top two candidates with the most votes win the two seats.
