District 1 – Baudette area

CO Jeremy Woinarowicz (Thief River Falls-West) continued field training with COC Carlson with enforcement action taken for taking a turkey out of season, unregistered off-highway motorcycle, and ATV light violations.
District 2 – Bemidji area

CO Tom Hutchins (Crookston) reports attending several firearms safety classes this week. Time was further spent working bear-hunting and waterfowl-hunting enforcement. Anglers were checked on area lakes.
CO Brice Vollbrecht (Bemidji #1) continued field training. Time was spent patrolling area ATV trails and lakes. Angling success continues to improve with the cooler weather and more migrant geese have been observed in the area.
CO Steve Chihak (Moorhead) spent the week working migratory waterfowl and ATV enforcement. He assisted with a district firearms safety field day in Bemidji. Time was also spent at Camp Ripley for training.
CO Bill Landmark (Pelican Rapids) spent the week completing a background investigation for the 2024 CO Academy. Time was also spent checking goose- and bear-hunting activity. Landmark also assisted in teaching at a Division-hosted firearms safety field day in Bemidji with other District 2 officers.
CO Brett Fox (Bemidji #2) spent the week patrolling for ATV, bear, angling, and watercraft activity. Fox attended annual fall training at Camp Ripley and led the District 2 annual firearms safety field day. Violations this week include ATV registration issues.
CO Al Peterson (Osage) worked bear hunters and monitored bear baits.
District 3 – Fergus Falls area

CO Andrew Goodman (Fergus Falls) focused efforts on teal- and goose-hunting activity early in the week. The last day of teal season was quiet, but felt much more like fall than previous mornings. Goose numbers remain low, which resulted in one individual taking unlawful steps to target geese in city limits. Enforcement action for the week included an unplugged shotgun, no waterfowl stamp and illegal method of take.
CO Tricia Plautz (Henning) worked a busy Labor Day with much activity on the water. Plautz attended annual training and handled trespass calls and injured-eagle calls. She also prepared for upcoming field training officer duties.
CO Ryan Brown (Elbow Lake) continued to monitor the remainder of the early teal season and the youth waterfowl season. He answered calls about the upcoming waterfowl and deer seasons. A wetland/public waters violation was also investigated.
CO Shane Osborne (Evansville) checked anglers and early goose, early teal and youth waterfowl hunters. Aquatic plant management investigations were initiated on area lakes regarding spraying and cutting aquatic vegetation without permits. Injured-animal and hunting law calls were received.
CO Mitch Lawler (Alexandria) continued field training with COC Scholz. Activity on lakes was down but a few good contacts were still made. Remember to continue safe boating practices such as having PFDs and using lights after sunset, even as the season starts to slow. Enforcement action was also taken for using chemicals to remove cattails without a permit. Be sure to check with your local COs or aquatic plant management specialist when looking to remove aquatic vegetation.
CO Felicia Znajda (Osakis) continues to see geese taken, along with a few more teal earlier in the week. Znajda reports working the youth waterfowl weekend and had numerous contacts with youth anglers. She took complaints related to trespassing, ATV and boating. Various enforcement action taken.
CO Hanna Wood (Wheaton) spent the week focused on waterfowl and angling enforcement. She spent time at Camp Ripley for training and took calls from people with questions regarding the upcoming fall hunting seasons.
CO Emily Douvier (Morris) reports working early teal, goose, and recreational enforcement. Work on deer farm inspections was completed and a background investigation for the Division was finished.
CO Daniel Baumbarger (Glenwood) reports enforcement efforts for the week were concentrated on checking anglers, ATV operators, and goose hunters. Baumbarger attended training at Camp Ripley and issued a restoration order for a public waters violation.
District 4 – Walker area

CO Michael Cross (Lake George) worked angling, watercraft, off-highway vehicle, and big-game enforcement. Cross also attended annual training at Camp Ridley. Enforcement action was taken for invasive species, wetland, aquatic vegetation, and bear hunting violations.
CO Jordan Anderson (Wadena) spent time at Camp Ripley completing annual training and assisted the Hubbard County Sheriff?s Office with an ATV safety class. Numerous wildlife-related calls were handled.
CO Patrick McGowan (Walker) continued field training a new conservation officer. The officers patrolled Cass County for angling, boating and ATV activity. Numerous violations were detected and addressed.
CO Adam Seifermann (Staples) reports attending a K9 demonstration at the Minnesota State Fair and attending fall training at Camp Ripley.
CO Mark Mathy (Cass Lake) primarily checked anglers and recreational vehicles. Mathy finished a background investigation of a CO applicant. An overlimit-of-fish complaint was investigated.
CO Corey Sura (Remer) investigated a bear-hunting complaint and checked panfish anglers on area lakes. An individual checked while fishing was arrested for an active warrant.
CO Jordan Anderson (Wadena) spent time at Camp Ripley completing annual training and assisted the Hubbard County Sheriff?s Office with an ATV safety class. Numerous wildlife-related calls were handled.
CO Tony Hams (Warroad North) spent the week checking area anglers and attending training. Violations encountered were possessing an overlimit of walleyes.
CO Coby Fontes (Warroad South) spent the week enforcing fishing regulations on Lake of the Woods and the Rainy River, enforcing migratory waterfowl regulations, and attending training. Enforcement action was taken against individuals for angling without an angling license and no license in possession.
CO Ben Huener (Roseau) continued field training COC Sean Cannon. This week they worked early season waterfowl hunters. Enforcement action was taken for no federal waterfowl stamp. They also worked angling enforcement on Lake of the Woods and the Roseau River. Enforcement action was taken for taking a northern pike within the protected slot and no fishing license in possession. The officers investigated a trespassing complaint on bear hunters and enforcement action was taken. Huener also investigated a wolf-depredation report.
CO Demosthenes Regas (Blackduck South) reports working bear hunting, early season teal- and goose-hunting activity and angling activity on special regulation lakes this past week. Time was spent patrolling area recreational vehicle trails, attending the local ATV club meeting, and handling calls of bears causing damage to corn crops. Violations encountered and addressed this past week included no federal duck stamp, transporting loaded firearms in a motor vehicle (motorboat), no angling license, and taking beaver out of season.
CO Nicholas Prachar (Blackduck North) reports slow bear-hunting success, but some hunters have been successful. Time was spent at Camp Ripley for annual training.
