BEMIDJI, Minn. – A 19-year old man is dead after crashing his motorcycle in Bemidji Tuesday night.
According to the Beltrami County Sheriff’s Department, around 11:20 p.m., the victim was with a group of bikers who were speeding on Carr Lake Road. A deputy saw the group and tried to make a stop with lights and siren on.
The deputy lost all but one of the motorcycles as the group sped away, eventually on Jefferson Avenue NW. The motorcycle the victim was riding was seen by another deputy traveling over 100 mph, and the deputies lost sight of it as it approached a roundabout.
A short time later, deputies and a Minnesota State Trooper found the driver in a grassy area.
The 19-year old victim was identified as Tristan Secor of Bemidji. Emergency responders tried life-saving measures, but Secor died at a hospital.
The Minnesota State Patrol is investigating the incident.
