CLEAR LAKE. S.D. (KWAT/KFGO) – It was a close call for a driver and passenger on Interstate 29 between Watertown and Brookings Sunday.
The Deuel County Sheriff’s Office says they were southbound around mile marker 154 in a Jeep when it began to hydroplane on the wet roadway, then entered the west ditch.
The Jeep crashed through a fence, and a wooden post from the fence pierced the windshield and went into the back seat of the vehicle. No one was in the back seat at the time.
Neither the driver nor front seat passenger were injured in the crash.
