Mother’s Day might be over, but there is a good chance the Mom in your life would appreciate a small gift all year around: photos. And, more specifically, taking photos of her with her children.
In my experience, Dad is in all the pictures. I have sweet pictures of Dad and his son in the first few days… staring in awe at his new baby boy, snuggled up on a chair, feeding him, bathing him, dancing around the kitchen, eating breakfast together, riding on the lawn mower, going on the first fishing adventure… sometimes I feel like I’m the photographer for Dad’s life.
Most of the pictures of myself and my baby are at arm’s length.
So, here is a simple gift that will keep on giving: a photo.
(Pro-tip: Use her phone or camera to take the pictures, then she has the photos right away!)
And, now, Moms, this is our pep talk: LET THEM TAKE THE PICTURES. I am so guilty of never feeling “camera-ready”! I never want my picture taken and I often sneak away from the opportunity to be in them.
But, let’s be honest with ourselves, we will regret it.
If nothing else, do it for your kids. We’re good at doing things for them and they will appreciate a photo with you. I promise.
