ST. PAUL, Minn. – Officials from Minnesota State Colleges and Universities are celebrating a $292 million investment by the state legislature.
Spokesman Doug Anderson said the historic funding means the highly successful Workforce Development Scholarship program will continue.
“By providing $2,500 scholarships, it not only enhances affordability, it also helps guide students towards careers that are going to be in demand by employers,” Anderson said. “So, when they graduate, they’ve got access to a good job already lined up.”
The Minnesota State Board of Trustees also approved an operating budget this week that freezes undergraduate tuition for two years.
