When I was first starting in local politics, a huge part of
my interest was because of infrastructure. My father was the Operations Manager
of a rural water system. I saw firsthand how my government invested in making
rural lives better. Better by making sure people had good, safe drinking water.
Imagine that, a government that worked on making lives better.
My how things have changed.
Today when I think about government, I never think about
rural water. It’s never about infrastructure unless it’s about a wall. A wall,
I might add, that America was never supposed to
pay
for. No, when I think about government
infrastructure, NOW it’s changed to a
moat
.
That’s right. For at least a couple of days, it’s been
a
moat
. A moat that no doubt will fulfill President Trump’s
campaign promise. A moat that the President wants filled with snakes and
alligators. Because of course snakes and alligators will attack on command any
woman with a child. Especially one who’s dog tired from walking through Mexico
to give their child a better life.
Of course, we have a problem if they can both swim.
You can’t make this stuff up. Trump actually believes this
is a solution. He wants the world to know that America has learned from the
past. We are a castle on a hill. A country that can’t be entered unless the
drawbridge is down. We have boiling oil and archers at the ready.
I just hope those damn women don’t have catapults.
Good riding with you.
