MINNEAPOLIS – The Islamic community is mourning the loss of five young women killed in a crash involving a vehicle fleeing the State Patrol in south Minneapolis.
Police say the suspect vehicle was speeding on Interstate 35-W, exited the highway going more than 90 mph, ran a red light, and struck a car carrying the five victims. Officers say the suspect ran from the scene and was taken into custody Friday night.
There’s a funeral for the victims Monday at 2 pm at the Garden of Eden Islamic Cemetery in Burnsville.
