(KFGO/KNFL) Kansas City erased a 4-0 deficit in the late innings and completed a three-game sweep of the F-M RedHawks with a 6-5, 10 inning win at Newman Outdoor Field on Thursday night.
Correlle Prime’s two-run homer in the bottom of the fourth inning gave the RedHawks a 2-0 lead. F-M added a pair of runs in the following inning. A Leo Pina RBI double, followed by a run-scoring single from John Silviano upped the lead to 4-0.
The Monarchs came back with a pair of runs versus F-M reliever Alex DuBord in the eighth, and took the lead on an Edwin Diaz 3-run homer in the ninth at 5-4. The RedHawks tied it in the bottom of the ninth on a two-out RBI double from Silviano.
Johneshwy Fargas gave the Monarchs the lead back at 6-5 on an RBI single in the 10th. Prime reached 3rd in the bottom of the tenth, but KC reliever Miller Hogan shut down the RedHawks to preserve the win.
Tanner Riley took the loss in relief for the RedHawks.
Farg0-Moorhead travels to Sioux Falls starting Friday for a weekend series versus the Canaries.
