Farmers Union Enterprises has teamed up with North Dakota Farmers Union to donate 30,000 pounds of pork ribs to the Great Plains Food Bank in Fargo.
The donation is part of a five-state giving spree of 150,000 pounds of pork to food banks in South Dakota, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Montana and North Dakota.
The donated pork ribs came from Redwood Farms, which supplies pork products to high-end restaurants in New York, Chicago and other cities across the U.S.
In North Dakota, the Great Plains Food Bank is the largest hunger-relief organization and the state’s only food bank.
The Great Plains Food Bank helps to fill 213 food pantries, soup kitchens and emergency shelters across the state.
