ST. PAUL, Minn. – The head of the Minnesota Board of Nursing resigned Thursday, ahead of an emergency board meeting to decide whether to remove her.
Kimberly Miller faced a number of challenges including the COVID 19 pandemic, the 2022 nurses strike, licensing delays, and reports of a hostile work environment.
In her letter of resignation, Miller acknowledged the unusual circumstances during her tenure. However, she disagreed with media reports and criticisms that she had fostered a toxic work environment.
“I have given my absolute best to this important position,” Miller said.
Miller was named executive director of the board in August of 2022 after working in other positions at the state agency since 1998.
