WASHINGTON, D.C. – A group of military veterans was welcomed home with applause from a large crowd at Hector International Airport after touring Washington D.C. on the latest Honor Flight.
The group was able to tour monuments and hear about history in our nation’s capital.
The National Archives closed Tuesday morning, the final day of the trip, to give Honor Flight veterans a private chance to see original copies of the Declaration of Independence and the U.S. Constitution, the founding documents of our nation.
After the archives, the group visited the U.S. Navy Memorial and museum and took a photo with all the Honor Flight’s Navy veterans.
KFGO’s Amy Iler and Joel Heitkamp were on the Honor Flight with the veterans group.
