FARGO, N.D. – North Dakota State left tackle Cody Mauch was selected by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the second round of the 2023 NFL Draft on Friday, April 28, and four other Bison players signed with NFL clubs as undrafted free agents following the conclusion of the draft Saturday, April 29.
Mauch, the 48th overall pick, is the seventh-highest draft pick in Bison football history. He is the third straight offensive lineman drafted out of NDSU joining right tackle Cordell Volson (2022, Bengals) and left tackle Dillon Radunz (2021, Titans).
NDSU’s undrafted free agent signees included tight end Noah Gindorff with the Seattle Seahawks, left guard Nash Jensen with the Carolina Panthers, fullback Hunter Luepke with the Dallas Cowboys, and defensive end Spencer Waege with the San Francisco 49ers.
This is the fifth straight year North Dakota State has had at least one NFL draft pick. NDSU had a Top 50 pick each of the last two seasons including wide receiver Christian Watson in 2022 (34th, Packers) and quarterback Trey Lance in 2021 (3rd, 49ers).
