MOUNTRAIL COUNTY, N.D. (KFGO) – A teen was killed in a train crash in northwest North Dakota. It happened in White Earth, located in Mountrail County, shortly before 4 p.m. Wednesday.
The Highway Patrol reported the 14-year-old male driver approached a railroad crossing marked with stop signs when the SUV he was driving failed to yield at an intersection, drove through the crossing, and was struck on its driver’s side by the westbound BNSF train. The vehicle was pushed down the tracks and spun clockwise before landing on the north side of the tracks.
The teen died at the scene.
