ST. PAUL, Minn. – The recent spike in mass shootings across the nation has increased pressure at the Minnesota State Capitol for new anti-gun-violence laws, including a “red flag” measure sponsored by Democrats which has cleared a couple of committees in the House.
In the Senate, Democrats have only a one-vote majority.
“There were a few on the other side that campaigned against gun restrictions,” East Grand Forks Republican Minority Leader Mark Johnson said. “I hope we can hold them to their campaign promises.”
There’s also a proposal for universal background checks on all gun purchases, which opponents warn will endanger Minnesotans’ Second Amendment rights.
Backers said it’s a reasonable step to reduce the number of gun-related murders.
This fellow is living in a dystopia if he thinks that trampling on honest citizens gun rights are going to stop the criminals the mentality insane from committing crimes.
