FARGO (KFGO) – Fargo Fire Chief Steve Dirksen says it won’t be long before bids will go out for the construction of a new fire station. It will be the city’s 8th station, and will be located at 33rd Street and 64th Avenue S.
Dirksen says the estimated cost of the 11,000-square-foot station is just over $5 million, but the actual cost could be slightly higher.
He hopes to have a bid presented to the city commission for approval in April, begin construction, and have the building enclosed for winter.
The fire station will have three truck bays and will be constructed for future expansion in what is becoming a very fast-growing residential area.
