MINNEAPOLIS (KFGO) – A Maple Grove, Minnesota man has been indicted by a federal grand jury on charges related to an armed carjacking at a grocery store in Blaine in September.
According to court documents, Justin Kittleson, 20, approached a person as they were loading groceries into their trunk in the parking lot of Cub Foods and pointed a gun at them. A second person confronted Kittleson and, during a struggle, the gun went off and a bullet grazed the second person’s ear.
Kittleson stole the car.
Blaine Police responded to the incident and found a spent shell casing at the scene.
During the investigation, officers identified Kittleson from surveillance video and executed a search warrant at his home where they found a gun matching the one used during the carjacking, and a sweatshirt matching the one he was wearing in the surveillance footage.
Kittleson has been charged with carjacking and gun charges related to a violent crime.
