ST. PAUL, Minn. – The city-owned liquor store in Detroit Lakes was in the top 10 for total sales in 2021, according to figures from the Minnesota auditor’s office.
Sales at the Detroit Lakes City Liquor Store were over $8.6 million. That put the store at seventh overall.
In Bemidji, sales topped $8.5 million, putting the store ninth in the state.
Alexandria was tenth at nearly $7.9 million.
The municipal liquor store in Lakeville had the highest sales. That store sold more than $19.5 million. Edina ($11.9 million), Richfield ($13.9 million), and Eden Prairie ($11.9 million).
Statewide, net profits totaled $36.5 million, which was 1.3 percent higher than in 2020.
