(KFGO/KNFL) The Barnesville Trojans football team is back to the Prep Bowl for the second time since 2019. The Trojans racked up over 450 yards in total offense in a 41-12 win over Jackson County Central in a Class AA semifinal at U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis.
Fullback John Roller rushed for 140 yards and two touchdowns for Barnesville (12-0). Roller’s 39-yard scamper for a score early in the 1st quarter gave the Trojans a 7-0 lead. After Braedan Bredman scored from 1 yard out to increase the lead to 14-0, JCC’s Ben Dahlin ran the ensuing kickoff 89 yards for a touchdown to cut the Trojans’ lead to 14-6. Less than a minute later, Roller struck again, going 61 yards on a touchdown run for 21-6 Barnesville lead.
Quarterback Zach Bredman combined for 203 yards total offense (98 rushing, 105 passing). Bredman found Dawson Gregg for a 77-yard TD pass late in the third quarter.
Barnesville will meet either Chatfield or Eden Valley-Watkins in the Class AA championship game on December 2 at 1:00 PM at U.S. Bank Stadium.
