(KFGO/KNFL) The opening round of the North Dakota Class 11A and Class 11AA playoffs begins tonight. Eight teams in each division are vying for a trip to the Fargodome for the Dakota Bowl on November 11.
Class A matchups:
- #8 Dickinson (4-5) at #1 Fargo South (6-3). The two teams did not face each other in the regular season. Dickinson beat South 9-7 in Fargo last season in the 11A quarterfinals.
- #5 Fargo North (5-4) at #4 Valley City (7-2). Teams did not face each other in the regular season.
- #6 Wahpeton (5-4) at #3 Red River (7-2). Red River beat Wahpeton 44-20 on September 2.
- #7 Grand Forks Central (4-5) at #2 Jamestown (7-2). Central is in the playoffs for the first time since 2007. Jamestown beat the Knights 42-28 on September 9.
Class AA matchups:
- #8 Bismarck Century (3-6) at #1 Sheyenne (8-1). Sheyenne beat Century 41-14 on September 9.
- #5 Fargo Davies (6-3) at #4 Bismarck Legacy (5-4). Legacy beat Davies in Fargo last Friday 21-14 to earn the home playoff game.
- #6 Minot (6-3) at #3 Shanley (7-2). First meeting between the two teams since 2008.
- #7 West Fargo (4-5) at #2 Mandan (7-2). The two teams did not play in the regular season.
