FARGO (KFGO) – Fargo City Commissioners will meet in an executive session Wednesday to discuss the possibility the city could face legal action by Romantix Inc. The company, with a chain of adult entertainment stores, has plans to move its downtown store on NP Avenue to a new location in the Syndicate Building on Broadway.
According to the city ordinance, that store move could be illegal. The current Romantix store location is exempted or “grandfathered in” by city ordinance. However, city ordinances do have a long list of restrictions about where adult entertainment stores can be located.
At the closed-door meeting, city commissioners and the city attorney will discuss “reasonably predictable and/or threatened litigation by Romantix,” and also negotiating strategy and negotiating instructions should there be legal action.
