FARGO (KFGO) – Four drivers were arrested for drunken driving at a Saturday night sobriety checkpoint in Fargo.
The State Patrol and Cass County Sheriff’s Office conducted the checkpoint on the westbound off-ramp at the I-94 University Drive exit.
417 vehicles went through the checkpoint between 9 p.m. and Midnight. 47 drivers were screened for impairment. Besides the four arrests, there were eight drug citations, seven open container tickets, and three driving under suspension citations.
Saturation patrols done Friday, Saturday and Sunday led to six DUI arrests and one drug charge.
There have been more than 52 fatalities on North Dakota roads this year. Nine of them were drinking-related.
