WASHINGTON, DC (KFGO) – Sen. John Hoeven says he’s received a commitment from a Dept. of Veterans Affairs undersecretary to add heat and electricity to the planned restroom at the Fargo National Cemetery.
The addition comes as part of the $250,000 cemetery enhancement project that is under development. It also includes wind walls and storage and is expected to be completed later this year. Hoeven says work is also underway to add running water and other enhancements and to acquire additional land to ensure the cemetery has enough burial space in the future.
Veterans organizations have been critical of the VA’s restroom plan, calling it an “outhouse.”
