WATERTOWN, S.D. (KFGO KWAT) – A new $26 million terminal at Watertown Regional Airport opens next month.
City officials say the terminal will become operational on August 11, with a ribbon-cutting and grand opening scheduled on August 26.
Construction on the new terminal began nearly two years ago.
The airport will replace the existing terminal, which is much smaller, and has a leaky roof.
Monday night, the Watertown City Council approved an on-sale liquor license for the terminal. The city will be the license holder, and Dempsey’s Pizza will be the proprietor selling alcohol from its restaurant space in the terminal.
