The Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks hosted the Chicago Dogs Sunday afternoon by a score of 9-5. The RedHawks finished a 4 game series with the Dogs at Newman Outdoor Field as they were only able to win 1 out of the 4. The RedHawks got down 4-1 in the top of the 3rd before scoring 4 in the bottom of the 3rd. John Silviano hit a 2 run RBI single his 52nd RBI on the season. One batter later Rymer Liriano hit a 2 run home run hitting his 5th of the season. The RedHawks would be unable to score anymore runs as the Dogs scored 5 more runs after that.
The RedHawks had Peyton Wigginton come in to start on the mound as he went 5 innings pitched giving up 8 hits and 5 earned runs. Tanner Riley would come in relief as he went 2 innings pitched giving up 4 hits and giving up 3 earned runs and picks up the loss as he drops to 0-3 on the year.
The Dogs sent out Jeff Kinley to start as he went 5 innings pitched giving up 7 hits and 5 earned runs. Joe Cavallaro got the win for the Dogs as he went 2.2 innings pitched and giving up only 1 hit. He improves to 3-0 on the season.
The RedHawks will continue play on Tuesday night as they travel to Sioux Falls to take on the 23-31 Sioux Falls Canaries. Tuesday’s night game is set for 7:05 P.M. as the pregame show starts at 6:45 P.M. on 740 The Fan.
