Layoffs, program cuts expected at MSU-Moorhead

MOORHEAD (KFGO) – Layoffs and other changes are expected at Minnesota State-Moorhead as the university deals with a $6-million spending gap.

President Anne Blackhurst is scheduled to detail proposed budget cuts Thurs.

Blackhurst says difficult program and personnel reductions must be made. She’s looking at cuts of about 10% in the university’s operating budget.

Employees were told of budget projections in February, even before the effects of Covid-19.
