FARGO, ND – The Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks topped Kane County Cougars the 11-10 Saturday night.
Kane County got on the board in the top of the first inning when Jimmy Kerrigan sent a 2-run blast over the batter’s eye taking an early 2-0 lead
The RedHawks were quick to get things going in the home half of the first inning starting with a Drew Ward2-run home run to ty the game at 2-2. An Evan Alexander RBI single plated Leo Pina to give the ‘Hawks a 3-2 lead. Christian Correa knocked in John Silviano with an RBI single to extend the lead to 4-2 RedHawks.
The Cougars got a run back in the top of the third inning on a Cornelius Randolph RBI double making it 4-3 Fargo-Moorhead.
Kane County put up four runs in the bottom of the fourth inning to take a 7-4 lead.
Peter Maris hit a solo shot over the fence in the bottom of the fourth to cut the Cougar advantage to 7-5.
The RedHawks tied thing back up at 7-7 on a Rymer Liriano 2-run home run to center in the bottom of the fifth inning.
The Cougars added a 3-run bomb off the bat of Kerrigan in the top of the sixth inning to take a 10-7 lead.
Fargo-Moorhead rallied in the bottom half of the sixth inning starting with a Pina RBI double that made it 10-8 Cougars. Liriano hit a 3-run double to give the RedHawks an 11-10 lead.
The RedHawks and Cougars are back in action Wednesday night, Jack Michaels will have the call, pregame at 6:40 p.m. first pitch 7:02 p.m. on 740 The Fan and 107.3FM.
