The first of two Optimists All-Star Volleyball matches took place last night at Shanley High School.
The teams are made up of some of the top Class A and B senior players from across the state of North Dakota.
The ‘Blue’ team beat the ‘Red’ team 3-2.
The ‘Blues’ were led by Fargo Davies standout Ava Wild, who had 22 kills and, from the state Champion Century Patriots, Macy Fridgen (fridge-in) had 15 kills for the victors.
The Red’s Danielle Hagler, a North Star grad, had 15 kills, while Delani Clark, from Century dished out 31 assists.
The Red squad’s Nadia Chwialkowski (fee-uh-cuss’-key) had a dozen kills and 10 digs.
The series shifts to Bismarck tonight.
