FARGO (KFGO) – In a show of support for Ukraine, Fargo City Commissioners unanimously approved a resolution introduced by Commissioner Arlette Preston to divest any contractual relationship the city has with any company doing business with Russia.
Preston said the resolution doesn’t affect or intended to impact any other companies in Fargo and do business with Russia.
This does not impact nor was it intended to impact any other companies that happen to be in Fargo and do business with Russia.
One of those companies being asked to cut ties with Russia is Baker Tilly, a public accounting and consulting firm that contracts with the City of Fargo. The Chicago-based company has said it will separate business in Russia from its global network.
The resolution directs city staff to identify and notify all other businesses that have contracts with the city still doing business with Russia to divest from those companies.
