MOORHEAD (KFGO) – More than a dozen people lined up before the walk-up windows opened for the traditional March 1 opening day for the historic Moorhead Dairy Queen, including a very cold man who just moved to the area from San Diego, five-year-old Keaton and his grandpa, and a crowd of at least ten regulars who never miss the annual tradition.
Owner Troy DeLeon said it was a warmer than usual first day and one of the first he could remember that fell on a Fat Tuesday.
DeLeon has been opening on March 1 for 27 years and the store has been in operation for over 70 years.
