The 103rd annual American Farm Bureau Convention is officially underway. The convention is being held Jan. 7-12 in Atlanta, Georgia, with a virtual option for portions of the event available to those who cannot attend in person. This is the first time in Farm Bureau history that the convention is being offered in-person and on a virtual platform at the same time.
AFBF President Zippy Duvall will give his annual address to Farm Bureau members during the opening general session of the convention at 8:30 a.m. Central on Sunday, Jan. 9.
Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack will speak during the closing general session at 10:30 a.m. Central on Monday, Jan. 10. Other general session keynote speakers are sure to inspire and entertain attendees.
Inspirational speaker Jim “Murph” Murphy, founder and chairman of Afterburner, will speak during the afternoon general session at the convention on Sunday, Jan. 9.
Comedian Jeff Allen will perform on Monday, Jan. 10, during the convention’s closing general session.
Growing Tomorrow, Together, which is this year’s theme. Twenty workshops will focus on advancements in agriculture and challenges facing farmers and ranchers in the coming year, including inflation, supply chain issues and cybersecurity. Programs will also expand on opportunities for agriculture including sustainability and increasing member engagement.
On Monday, Jan. 10, at 6:00 p.m. Central, it’s game time at the AFBF Celebration: A College Football Experience. AFBF members will join football fans at the Chick-fil-A College Football Hall of Fame as the Georgia Bulldogs take on the Alabama Crimson Tide for the national championship.
The winners of the Ag Innovation Challenge, Foundation Book of the Year and Farm Dog of the Year will all be announced during convention as well.
