Norma Sittko, 96, of Moorhead, MN, died Monday, December 13, 2021, in Bethany on 42nd, Fargo, ND.
Norma Olive Restad was born February 16, 1925, to Henry and Clara (Nolting) Restad, at Ada, MN. She attended rural schools in the Park Rapids, Hendrum and Irwin Valley areas in Minnesota and graduated Twin Valley High school in 1942. She then took a business course at Aaker’s Business College in Grand Forks, ND and worked summers during school vacations on neighboring farms.
On June 30, 1943, she married Fred Sittko of Ada, and they farmed in Ada and Ulen, MN areas until moving into Lake Park, MN, in 1968. Fred passed away in October 1981 and she continued to reside in Lake Park until moving to Moorhead in 1993.
Norma was concerned about others and cared for several pre-school children in her home. She was always ready to assist and drive for elderly relatives, friends and neighbors. She worked as a substitute for Multi-County Nursing out of Detroit Lakes, MN, at times. She enjoyed raising flowers and vegetable and kept up her yard and property the year around.
Norma attended and took part in services at Bridgepoint Community Church of the Nazarene. She was so grateful to God for the salvation that Jesus provided by his substitutionary death on Calvary’s cross for her and for all, who will come to repentance and faith in Him. Norma marveled at the magnitude of God’s power, love, and forgiveness. For many years, meeting with a group of ladies for Bible study and prayer, often in her home, brought joy and blessing.
She is survived by one sister, Erma Haugen of Fargo; and one brother, Donald (Betty) Rested of Champaign, IL; twelve nieces and twelve nephews. Also surviving, are close friends ever since their family moved across the street from the Sittkos, in Lake Park, when they were 1 ½ years old, twin brothers , Shon (Melissa) Naslund of Elbow Lake , MN and Shane (Rebecca) Naslund and family of Bismarck, ND.
Preceding her in death were her husband, Fred; and sister, A. Irene.
A Visitation for Norma will begin at 9:30 am, Monday, December 20, 2021, followed by her Funeral Service at 10:30 AM, in Korsmo Funeral Chapel, Moorhead. Burial will be in the Ada Cemetery, Ada.
