FARGO, N.D. (NDSU Athletics)– The North Dakota State men’s basketball team used a strong defensive effort to earn a 68-54 win over CSU Northridge on Friday night at the Scheels Center.
The Bison improved to 6-4 overall, and the Matadors fell to 3-6 on the season.
NDSU limited CSUN to 34-percent shooting in the game, including a 4-for-19 effort (21 percent) from three-point range.
The Bison made four of their first six shots from beyond the arc, pulling ahead 24-15 just over 10 minutes into the contest. NDSU led by as many as 12 points in the first half.
The Matadors pulled within five at 52-47 with 8:00 remaining in the game, but Tyree Eady responded with a three-point play that sparked NDSU to a 16-2 run and sealed the victory.
Both Grant Nelson and Rocky Kreuser scored 18 points to lead NDSU, and Kreuser pulled down a career-high 14 rebounds for a double-double. Eady added nine points and a season-high 12 rebounds, helping the Bison to a 48-31 rebounding advantage in the contest.
NDSU hosts Indiana State on Monday, Dec. 13, at 7 p.m.
