ST. LOUIS – North Dakota State’s Cordell Volson was named Missouri Valley Football Conference Offensive Lineman of the Week by the league office Monday, Nov. 1. It is Volson’s third award of the season and the fourth of his career.
Volson, a sixth-year senior from Balfour, N.D., split time at right tackle and right guard in North Dakota State’s 44-2 home win over Indiana State. He graded out with six “plus physical” plays in two-and-a-half quarters of action with zero missed assignments, sacks, pressures or tackles for loss allowed.
The Bison scored on their first five possessions and rushed for 233 yards in building a 30-0 halftime lead highlighted by Kobe Johnson’s school-record 97-yard touchdown run.
No. 2-ranked North Dakota State (8-0, 5-0 MVFC) travels to play ninth-ranked South Dakota State (6-2, 3-2 MVFC) at 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 6, at Dana J. Dykhouse Stadium in Brookings, S.D.
