The North Dakota State University men’s and women’s cross country teams will compete at the Summit League Cross Country Championships this Saturday, Oct. 30, in Tulsa, Okla.
Oral Roberts University will host the meet at Holland Hall. The men’s eight-kilometer race will start at 10 a.m. CT, with the women’s 6k scheduled to follow at 11 a.m.
The Bison women won the most recent full-fledged conference cross country title in 2019, with several schools opting out of the postponed 2020 Summit League Championships held in March 2021. NDSU finished third in the women’s team standings in March.
Senior Jen Dufner (7th place in March) and sophomore Kaleesa Houston (8th) are the top returners for the Bison women. Senior Kelby Anderson won the Summit League individual title in 2019, but did not run this past season.
The NDSU men have been the Summit League runners-up for four consecutive seasons. Zach Johnson, Isaac Huber and Josh Samyn are the top returners from the conference meet in the spring, and three others – Mason Kindel, Payton Smith, and Jake Arason – have led the Bison in races this fall.
