PARK RAPIDS, Minn. – Officials say a relatively small wildfire reported Tuesday afternoon in a remote section of Itasca State Park in north-central Minnesota is now 80 percent contained.
Crews limited it to nine acres and are now scouting for hot-spots. Precautionary evacuations of some cabins in the vicinity have been lifted and authorities say most areas have re-opened, but some closures remain on Wilderness Drive. The fire was at the end of the Bohall Trail.
Investigators are still trying to determine the cause.
