GRAND FORKS, N.D. – University of North Dakota women’s returns to the links this week after a three break from competition, competing in the three round, three day Aggie Invitational in Las Cruces, N.M.
New Mexico State University Golf Course will host the event, featuring 20 teams across the West, Rockies, Southwest and Midwest including the Fighting Hawks. Fans can follow the tournament on GolfStat. UND will be paired with South Dakota State, UT-Arlington and UC Riverside. The shotgun start will commence at 9:30 a.m. Central time.
In the Fall opener in Brookings, Carrie Carpenter tied for 10th with a three-round score of 229, leading the Fighting Hawks to a sixth place team finish and a score of 938. Pemika Ponlamuangdee registered a top-25 finish in the tournament as well as she finished five strokes behind Carpenter.
The NMSU Golf Course, ranked among the top-25 campus golf facilities in the country, offers tree lined fairways in a high-desert setting, nestled around the Organ Mountain range. Partly sunny skies and temperatures in the mid-80s will welcome the Fighting Hawks and the rest of the field during the three day tournament.
North Dakota will follow up with the Pat Less Harbottle Invitational in Seattle, Wash., on Oct. 11 and 12 in its penultimate tournament of the fall.
