The North Dakota Class B Girls Golf Tournament kicked off at Crossroads Golf Course in Carrington on Monday. Heart River leads the team scores with a total of 325 thanks to outstanding consistency; four of their golfers posted scores in the top 12 after yesterday’s round.
Napoleon/G-S is clinging to second place with 347 total strokes, Linton/HMB is sitting in third at 355, two-time defending state champion Kindred is fourth at 356, and Fargo Oak Grove rounds out the top five at 363.
Ainsley McClain is the individual leader after posting an opening round 73, holding a one-shot lead over defending state champ Avery Bartels of Kindred. Elle Nicholas of North Star carded a 77 for third, and Rugby’s Libby Dulmage and Heart River’s Madisen Jarrett are tied for fourth with 79s.
The second and final round begins a 9 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 28, at CrossRoads.
