FARGO, N.D. (KFGO/KVRR) – Area parents opposed to school mask mandates gathered at a private meeting last night in Fargo to show their support.
A local group called “Let Parents Decide That,” say they are the ones that should make the health decisions about whether their children should wear masks at school.
Co-founder Cassie Schmidt says many parents believe they are stealing the their freedoms under the guise of public safety
Schmidt says parents did not elect the school boards, or hire the superintendents or put anyone else in charge over the medical decisions parents make about their children.
Face masks are required in Fargo and Moorhead Public Schools. They are recommended at West Fargo Public Schools.
