ST. PAUL, Minn. – State Health Commissioner Jan Malcolm says a COVID outbreak the first week of the school year in Albert Lea is a cautionary note to other districts in Minnesota.
Malcom says,” the district is now updating their masking policy, but the transmission chain started just that quickly and now may not be easily stopped.
She says the C-D-C and state Health Department strongly advise that everyone age 12 and over, including school staff, be vaccinated — and that everyone, regardless of vaccination status, wear masks indoors in school settings.
