(Eagan, MN) — Minnesota Vikings linebacker Cam Smith is retiring from the NFL. The 24-year-old announced his decision to leave football on yesterday after missing all of 2020 following an open-heart surgery last August.
In his retirement post on Instagram, Smith said he is asking his body to do too much after suffering a concussion in the Vikings’ pre-season opener on Saturday, Smith’s first game since having the surgery.
