(Seattle, WA) — The NHL’s newest team now have a roster. The Seattle Kraken picked 30 players from 30 of the league’s teams in the Expansion Draft on Wednesday. The Wild lost one player in defenseman Carson Soucy.
The Kraken could’ve taken goaltender Kaapo Kahkonen, forward Victor Rask or a number of other players from Minnesota but decided to go with the former UMD d-man.
Also selected was former Calgary captain Mark Giordano, Tampa Bay center Yanni Gourde and Florida goalie Chris Driedger. Seattle also signed former Dallas defenseman Jamie Oleksiak to a five-year contract worth four-point-six million dollars per year.
