FARGO — The Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks picked up a win over the 1st place Milwaukee Milkmen Friday night in the first of a three-game series at Newman Outdoor Field. Fargo-Moorhead put up two crooked numbers on the night. They exploded for 7 runs in the second inning, after which the RedHawks never relinquished the lead. After putting up 4 in the 7th inning the RedHawks would ultimately win 14-4.
Fargo-Moorhead started Brent Jones and he picked up the win. Jones is now 2-4 on the season. The losing pitcher for the Milwaukee Milkmen was starter David Holmberg, who left after the 7-run second inning. Holmberg falls to 5-3 on the seaons.
Milkman OF Adam Brett Walker II hit 2 home runs on the night to bring his league-leading total to 18 on the season.
Fargo-Moorhead plays the second of three against the 1st place Milwaukee Milkmen Saturday night. Pregame on 740 The Fan is set for 5:40 p.m. followed by the first pitch at 6:00 p.m.
