FARGO (KFGO) – On Sunday, a Fargo Police officer on patrol downtown saw two boys delay traffic and do wheelies.
The officer activated his lights and siren, but the juveniles took off on their bikes. The officer was able to locate the boys after a short foot pursuit. The 15 and 16-year-olds, both of Fargo, were cited for not stopping and for riding their bicycles on the sidewalk. Their bikes were impounded.
Last summer and into the fall, police received multiple complaints of young people riding their bikes on streets, blocking traffic and harassing people.
“The department will work closely with the Juvenile Court system to hold these young people accountable” according to police public information officer Jessica Schindeldecker.
Residents are requested to report similar incidents at 701-451-7660. Police say any video or pictures would be beneficial.
