It’s canoe and kayak season! In an effort to provide opportunities to paddle the Red River safely within Fargo-Moorhead, Moorhead Parks and Recreation and River Keepers have teamed up again to offer a variety of River Paddling Excursions and Canoe/Kayak Rentals at Hjemkomst Landing.
Red River Paddling Excursion Information:
* History of the Red River on June 16 & August 4 will be led by Historical & Cultural Society of Clay County
* Animals on the Red River on July 21 will be led by Red River Zoo
* Trees of the Red River on August 18 will be led by City of Moorhead Forestry
Cost is $10/person if providing own vessel $15/person if needing canoe or kayak rental (available on a first come, first serve basis); ages 5 and under are free . Register at moorheadparks.com or call 218.299.5340.
Canoe/Kayak Rentals at Hjemkomst Landing Information:
We will be open June 1-September 11 on Tuesdays 5:00-8:00 p.m. Saturdays 11:00a.m.-6:00 p.m. and Sundays 12:00-6:00 p.m. Rentals are on a first come first served basis. Cost is $10/vessel/hour.
